Who doesn't love a sensitizing and soothing massage after coming home from a hard days work. A romantic, sensual massage is a great way pamper your partner on an anniversary or special occasion, spark the romance in your relationship, or simply surprise your partner spontaneously and show you care. Intimacy will surely grow after this and so will your relationship.

Setting the background environment for the massage

Before you get started, it's imperative you set the mood or enviornment for your massage. The most obvious aspect of setting a romantic, sensual mood is to use candles or essential oils. Candles come in many varieties. Colored and white, with different shapes and many are fragranced with essential oils. A good choice of scented candle for your room is jasmine or rose. Light up the scented candle and give it some time to fill the room with the fragrance and create ambience for your massage. Scented candles not only help fill the room with a pleasant aroma but also provide dim romantic lighting to your bedroom.

Massage Time

Spread sheets on the bed to protect it from excess oil (if you're planning on using massage oils)

Take your partner's head on your lap and begin stroking his/her hair. Start pressing from the forehead and end at the temples making small circles. Repeat the same from the nose bridge and continue till the end of the eyebrow, synchrony on the other side is required as well.

Gently stroke the cheeks, nose and lips. Make your partner lie on the bed or floor with their head down, massaging from the neck and continue till the end of the shoulders gently pressing and kneading. Be sure that you are gentle enough so that every move of yours bring a soothing feeling to your partner. Begin with the shoulder and start massaging the arms from shoulder to hand slowly. Include a twisting motion as you go down, till you reach their hands.

Twist the biceps and wrists gently. Squeezing and kneading the biceps can be a good addition. Repeat the same with the other hand too.

Next, start with the neck; with a firm but gentle grip go on massaging until you reach the lower back. Circular motion in between and keep on kneading wherever you get fleshy part will help even more. Make sure you are not pressurizing on the spine but are concentrating on its surroundings.

Beginning with the back part of one of the legs, go down till the knees kneading and gently pressing the muscles with along with twisting motion. Spread your fingers and return the stroke back to the top of the legs, with a gentle pressure. First massage the knee, and then continue the same from there till the feet. Return upwards twisting the flesh and kneading it. Feet need extra care and attention. Every toe and the space in between must be massaged carefully. Bring the feet outward and give a good stretch to the leg.
